Apimondia 2011 – 42nd Apiculutral Congress

21 – 25 September • Buenos Aires, Argentina

Apimondia is the biggest beekeeping event in Argentina. Beekeepers and suppliers of products, materials, equipment and technological solutions attend the show, along with researchers and specialists in the sector from around the world. The congress combines an  extensive product display with an academic programme, offering attendees a global vision of the sector.

Argentina is in the forefront of honey production in the world. The main producers are professional beekeepers – usually large companies acquiring honey from thousands of bee families. As much as 90 per cent of Argentinian honey, classified as mixed-flower honey, is exported. Favourable weather conditions and multitude of forage, including a vast number of plants blooming for over six months, make honey harvesting particularly rich.
