Various events took place in many countries, and&nbsp;the main event took place in \u017dirovnica, Slovenia, in&nbsp;the birthplace of Anton Jan\u0161a, born on 20 May 1734.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main three-day celebration in Slovenia was&nbsp;attended by Apimondia, the Director General of FAO, Jos\u00e9&nbsp;Graziano da Silva, and the honorary patron of the event&nbsp;was the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 6,000 people, mostly beekeepers and&nbsp;officials, were present at the event.&nbsp; On Friday, 18 May, a global bee conference&nbsp;<em>Global&nbsp;Challenges and Beekeeping<\/em>&nbsp;was held in Slovenia,&nbsp;where experts presented the main challenges in&nbsp;beekeeping and proposed measures for the future.&nbsp;The following day, they were presented to&nbsp;agricultural ministers at a ministerial conference&nbsp;organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and&nbsp;Forestry of the Republic of Slovenia, at Brdo pri&nbsp;Kranju.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several events were&nbsp;held throughout the month of May, in Slovenia and&nbsp;elsewhere during the celebration of the WBD.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bees and other pollinators are very important&nbsp;for the agricultural production, the environment&nbsp;and the survival of people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bees are threatened in many parts of the world&nbsp;and they need our help.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What people must do in the future in order to&nbsp;better survive bees and other pollinators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbeeday.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.worldbeeday.org<\/a>&nbsp;for updates.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Celebrating the first official World Bee Day!<\/p>","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":1588,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1587","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-world-bee-day"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1587","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1587"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1587\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1690,"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1587\/revisions\/1690"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1588"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1587"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1587"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/apimondia.site\/esp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1587"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
